The work
IT support is the most direct entry point technology has: no degree, a handful of certifications, and you are troubleshooting real problems for real people in weeks rather than years. It will not make anyone rich, and the Handbook is honest that the occupation is shrinking slightly as more of it automates, but it is a genuine way into technology work, and a common launchpad into cybersecurity, systems administration or software.
